Q: I recently tried to install Mandrake 9.1 on my HP. The computer froze during installation. When I try to boot, try loading the OS, but fails. I would try a fresh install of Mandrake, but I do not know how. I have the installation CD in the drive, but the computer still tries to boot from the HD. Im not sure how to access bios on this comp, as the HP. Booting from CD for good, because Im (kinda) Mandrake install it.
Help please!
Thanks for any ideas you can give me! Ask for more information if necessary.
Re:Thanks for all your help guy!!! I really appreciate you taking the time to try and fix the problem! I found that I had the CD-ROM drive set to slave…..just changed it to master, and the computer finally booted from CD.
Re:Update: I got into the BIOS (by pressing F1, F2, F12, and DEL at the same time
Re:When the blue HP Logo screen appears, press the F1 key on the keyboard to enter the HP BIOS Setup menu.

You're lucky I'm in a good mood, otherwise I wouldn't have navigated that awful site
EDIT: Let me know if that works or not.

Re:Model Number: 9780C
Hope this helps!
EDIT: I check the HP site, and apparently
the BIOS is: Software Build ID Pangea-U 2.30.91
Re:You're gonna have to go to the BIOS and set the "Primay Boot Device" as your CD-Rom.
Just restart it, and try keys like F1, F2, F12, etc. as soon as it powers up.
Or, post your HP Model number here, and I'm sure someone can find the help files for it.
