Help! How to boot from CD?!?! [hd] [bios]

Q: I recently tried to install Mandrake 9.1 on my HP. The computer froze during installation. When I try to boot, try loading the OS, but fails. I would try a fresh install of Mandrake, but I do not know how. I have the installation CD in the drive, but the computer still tries to boot from the . Im not sure how to access on this comp, as the HP. Booting from CD for good, because Im (kinda) Mandrake install it.

Help please!
Thanks for any ideas you can give me! Ask for more information if necessary.

Re:Thanks for all your help guy!!! I really appreciate you taking the time to try and fix the problem! I found that I had the CD-ROM drive set to slave…..just changed it to master, and the computer finally booted from CD.

Re:Update: I got into the (by pressing F1, F2, F12, and DEL at the same time ;) ), and changed the first boot device to CD-ROM. I then noticed that it isn't recognising my CD-ROM!!!!! When I turn on the computer, the light on the CD-ROM drive goes on, so it isn't a power issue…..maybe it's the IDE connection? I did just change the CD-ROM, but it was in my other system working fine just a few hours ago.

Re:When the blue HP Logo screen appears, press the F1 key on the keyboard to enter the HP Setup menu.

You're lucky I'm in a good mood, otherwise I wouldn't have navigated that awful site :P

EDIT: Let me know if that works or not.

Re:You're gonna have to go to the and set the "Primay Boot Device" as your CD-Rom.

Just restart it, and try keys like F1, F2, F12, etc. as soon as it powers up.

Or, post your HP Model number here, and I'm sure someone can find the help files for it.
