Help me out. [valid win32 application] [exe is not a valid win32 application]

Q: I have a problem with this 40GB WD mine. It seems to have trouble reading. When I play an MP3 audio or anything, it accelerates the bitrate so all i is a very fast and annoying song. Also I get this u0026quot; N.exe is not a u0026quot; errors. That is over. Before these problems, I had the error that the disk was full u0026quot; u0026quot, (with 10 GB or so left free). Ran the WD diagnostics and formatted, now I have all the above. Help me out!

Re:guy: are you positive?
I'm wandering ow can i run W2k on a RAID ATA100 array….

Re:thank for the help. I checked for any viruses…it was virii free. Win98SE is my OS. Today i used the WD disk that came with the drive and i believe it installed EZ-Bios.

Re:even wav files do that?

i've listened to distorted mp3s that were converted out of sync with time (if that's what u r getting) when the cpu gets interrupted by some othr device, usually pausing and unpausing it would reset the conversion

if u have fat16 or fat32, the "disk is full" error could be that "windows is reporting the drive's free space incorrectly or slowly" — run scandisk to fix

enabling dma would take most of the hdd accessing load off the cpu

"not valid win32 app" …um, not sure

check for virus first especially the boot sector since u already formated, just in case

Re:Agree with one-zero…check for virus first…What OS you running ??? Win2K doesn't support ATA-100 until SP2…Not sure if that could cause prob's… I had similar problems with a WD drive, especially after using it's EZ-drive bios updating software… Had to flash bios, let MB pick up drive, reformat, reinstall…no probs after that…

Re:First, I'd check for a virus. Then after the HD is virus free, I'd back up any important data. I have heard clicks, pops, and skips in audio files, but I have never heard of an audio file playing at a different speed intermittently. I have had several hard drives crash, and in a couple of cases I was given a warning of imminent death by the drive.
