Re:How about something like this for $798 shipped (at least to Colorado) from Newegg.com. It should be very functional, but play pretty nicely. I included everything, since I assumed the only thing you had was the OS. I didn't get the CD-Burner in for that price though. Sorry you might be able to squeeze a little bit more by using an ECS K7S5A SiS? 735 SOCKET A MOTHERBOARD – RETAIL for $18 less, and $32 less (plus less for shipping) because you won't need a LAN card. I believe this would let you get a Lite On 32×12x40 CDRW Model LTR-32123S Retail Box for $90 + $8. I also believe you can subtract $10 for the heatsink. For a grand total of ~$836.

I have never heard those speakers, but they seemed right for the funds available. Also you could save ~$36 of this by using on-board sound, but you will be happier with a sound card.

……………edit………….
I forgot to put the DVD price in because I couldn't put it in the cart because its out of stock for the moment. I have it in now though………..:D

Re:Here's a P4 setup:

Prices from newegg, checkout that shipping charge.

Enlight 7237 300W $44
Mitsumi 32×12x40 $85
Maxtor 60GB 7200 $99
Samsung PC2700 256MB $86
ASUS P4S333 $104
P4 1.6A $135
ATI Radeon 8500 64 Rtl. $155
Shipping $48.34
Grand total $756.34

Just change the FSB in the bios to 133 and you have a 2133Mhz machine. Is it really overclocking to change the settings in bios. I think of overclocking as manually altering the chip to do something it wasn't designed to do. It nothings more than turning onboard audio off in the bios.

Re:AMD is the way to go if your not going to OC

Should be able to pick up a GFTi200,XPCPU, and 256 ram

Re:Does it have to be an AMD? With the P4 1.6A out there, this is probably the best bang for the $, even if it is an intel chip.
