Q: I need to know what I have, so I can see its specs on the web to see what kinda ram it will support – i dont its box or papers with me Any more so is there a way to find which one it Can is? thanks

Re:Open the case and look on the for a brand and model #. This may not be easy if you have an offbrand board or a board made for Dell or Gateway because major manufacturers usually hide their names when they make the "generic" boards, but on most new major brand boards, it should be quite obvious. If it is not, look around the last ISA or PCI slot, near the edge of the board farthest from the processor…the model # is usually the one with a Rev #.# written beside it and it will usually start with letters. Type that number into a search engine and see what comes up.
