How can I tell which version of KDE [linux mag] [mandrake]

Q: . 7.2 on my machine? I just read in Linux on May KDE2 and I wonder if I it.

Thanks!

Re:I only loaded the Install CD. How do I go back and install the other one and what does it give me?

Re:Batty…

Did you install both CD's when installing ?

Re:Thanks, Jim!

rpm -q kde yields "package not installed"(?!?!?), but your control center idea was spot on – 7.2 uses KDE2.

Thanks again!

Re:since is an RPM based distrobution, open up a terminal and type rpm -q kde. This will report what kde version. I believe, since I don't run KDE so this is a guess, in the control panel there is a place that will tell you what version of kde you are running, what kernel you have, and what CPU type you have. RPM -q KDE will defianlty tell you whats installed.

Re:What?? Did you read the question???? There is a huge diff between KDE and KDE 2. The question is where is it??? 7.2 comes with KDE 2.

Re:If you can't tell the difference between KDE1 and KDE2 by just using it why should you care at all?

Re:Good question…I was wondering the same thing. I just installed 7.2 and noticed on thier web site that it comes with KDE 2, but I only see KDE.
