Q: I try to boot to DOS FDISK, so I can see my hard drive but can not seem to boot from floppy, even though it is set to boot from A, C, SCSI.
I m running Mandrake 9.1 to get. It simply means the Linux boot loader.
I get this: Error: 0×40
The above problem is now solved, but I can not get rid of this conflict IDE I got after loading the default settings in my boot BIOS.
I can now load Windows, but I have to keep F1 bypass this error message from expressing an IDE conflict.
Re:The above problem is now fixed but I can't get rid of this IO Conflict I got after loading the default settings in my BIOS.
I can load boot to Windows now but I have to keep pressing F1 to bypass this error message of an IO Conflict.
This is my new error msg:
Conflict IO ports 2F8
Fixed it!!! It was a serial port. I just set it to AUTO.
Re:Okay, I got the floppy working but still get the IO conflict. No hardware has been changed.
Re:This is my new error msg:
Conflict IO ports 2F8
Floppy disk fail.
I did not notice the floppy light come on so I will check that again and the plugs as well.
Re:sounds like the floppy might be disabled in the bios. do you notice the floppy light come on during boot time?
Re:I just loaded all the default settings and am now getting an IRQ error.
I'm gonna read the manual first to see if I could figure this thing out.
Re:Maybe the floppy drive or diskette has a problem. For instance, maybe the floppy is configured for something other than 1.44MB in the BIOS, or what you think is a '/s' enabled floppy isn't.
Re:Is set to boot from floppy but still goes to LInux.
My boot sequence is: A, C, SCSI
