heh, I don't have broadband, but it dosn't stop me from mirroring the Slackware-current tree, but then its only about 2GB ;0) Check out cheapbytes.com it sells copies of distros for ~$5

Re:OpenLinux is RPM based IIRC.
You should be able to find Samba packages without too much trouble, in fact they should be included on the CD's, or whereever you installed OL from.
Look for packages named samba-blahblah.rpm on your CD/ftp site/whatever, if you cant find them there, have a look at Samba.org (http://www.samba.org) or RPMFind.net (http://www.rpmfind.net).
But are you sure it's not installed, most of the "desktop friendly" distros include it by default, try typing "rpm -aq |grep samba".

Re:Well, assuming your kernel has support for smbfs(Never used OpenLinux so I dont know if it has by default), and assuming Samba is installed, you could do:
"mount -t smbfs -o username=YourUserName //x.x.x.x/YourShareName /your/mountpoint"
