How does a two monitor set up work? [monitors]

Q: How does it work if you have two ? Explain. Thank you.

Best Answer: Try this:

Re:i use 2 nvidia cards on two 17inch . Now I cannot strech accross both but it is nice having the extra room. There is a really cool program called multimon that allows you to switch which monitor you are maximized on with the touch of a button.

Re:that part about Photoshop is so cool. Don't web pages seem like really stretched out though??

Re:Works pretty sweet… depending on which card/driver, ie matrox, u can either stretch or have 1024×768 on 1 and 800×600 on another if have dissimilar monitor.. else… its a very cool toy..

Re:Not sure how two video cards work, but on my Matrox G400 dual display, I have it set so the desktop basically gets stretched across two . Instead of 1024×768, you get 2048×768. Mouse and programs can be moved across easily. You can also set it up so that the display gets stretched vertically so a 1024×768 desktop becomes 1024×1536.

There are also ways of zooming in on a specific area on monitor one and having it display on monitor two. For example, working in photoshop, you can edit pixel by pixel on the zoom and see how it affects the overall picture in monitor one…

Then there's also the new Edualhead thing that Matrox came out with. Haven't used it much, but for webpages with a lot of vertical scrolling, it gets displayed on both so it reads like a book…

Re:You need two video cards or one card with dual display capabilites. Each Monitor plugs into the cards and the drivers should control how you control the "virtual desktop" Spanned between both or different applications on different . etc. etc.
