Q: I made a mistake in installing the solitaire game in win2k professional. I want to delete but can not lose. I try to delete the registry and even try to sol.exe to delete, but I am not able to do it. Help !
Re:yup sure does plus you get to view all that crap that gets installed and remove it , you dont get that option during the installation
Re:Thanks Gaza !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It works !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Re:ok goto inf folder in winnt (make sure all files are set to viewed in the folder options)
in the Inf folder look for a sysoc.inf file ,open the file up.
Locate the "old base components" line.
For each component you want to appear in the Add/Remove Programs tool, remove the comma and "Hide" comment. For example, change
beforeGames=ocgen.dll,OcEntry,games.inf,HIDE,7
to:
afterGames=ocgen.dll,OcEntry,games.inf,,7
Also remove the "HIDE" option from the "AccessUtil=" line. If you leave this option hidden, then none of the other components in the "old base components" section are available in Add/Remove Programs.
Save and then close the file.
Re:I cannot remove it from add/remove windows components due to "unable to find games.inf". I still want to remove sol.exe from my system or make it unvailable. Please help!
Re:Solitare sucks! haha. My fiancee has a p3-600 w/384 megz of RAM, and that is the only game installed on her system, that and free cell are her favorites. I'm like overkill! heehee.
Re:Under Add / Remover Programs -> Windows Components -> Games -> Solitaire
But it's such a cool time killer! Why would you want to uninstall it?
