Q: I hear the CS Source beta is, but I just can not find it. I searched online, in this and other forums, steam and even file sharing networks and I can not find anything. Am I missing something. How can I find, I do not care what really, I just some HL2 engine to run on my system.
Still not want to have installed Doom III, hopefully I will do this weekend, but I would like a gamble the first source or possible.

I did it anyway, lol. I was all psyched cause for some reason it let me start downloading CS:S without owning CZ or a HL2 voucher… at least I thought it did… it was downloading SOMETHING… but then when I restarted Steam it didn't show up as one of my games. So I bought it… yeah, I'm a dork, I don't care, lol.
I'll have some bink videos and screenshots for ya people later on.
*EDIT* I was actually pretty impressed by it after just playing Counter-Strike for a few hours. CSS is great… it runs smooth as glass on my 9800 Pro at 1024×768 (I'd say an average of about 90-95 FPS, I'll check it later after this bink conversion is done)… although… I couldn't get AA to work… but I did have 16x performance AF turned on and I didn't notice the frame rates dropping below 85.
**EDIT** Correction… AA didn't work at first… when I reduced the resolution to 640×480 for video making it started working. It actually looks amazingly good at 640×480 just like Doom 3. I think now that they're using much higher resolution textures things look much better at lower resolutions than they use to.
