Re:1. install everything
2. login as root
3. set sendmail to start at every boot for the easy way you can use "ntsysv"
just type "ntsysv" at the prompt and set "network, sendmail" to set it up automatically
4. don't forget to configure your network card

that's it…

Re:actually, if you install everything you'll have sendmail already, just go to the cli and type "sendmail user@domain.com", of course user@domain.com needs to be a valid email addy… man sendmail for more info

But how to access the sendmail?

I know this is a silly question, but I really a beginner to Linux..

Edit the config file. sendmail.org should have some information on it as well as linuxdoc.org and .com. You will need a program like pine, mail, or mutt to send mail (easily anyhow). When in doubt, google.com/linux

Re:I haven't bothered to learn howto do it myself since I use my isp's E-mail stuff, however Linuxdocs.org (http://www.tldp.org/HOWTO/Mail-Administrator-HOWTO.html) is good place to start looking.

Also if you snoop around 's website it probably give you some tips on how to do things.

Do a search on google.com fo stuff like:
E-mail linux howto
linux howto
mail administration etc etc….

you get the idea.

It's doutful that anyone will tell you exaxctly what to do in order to do something. Forums are better for asking specific question about stuff that doesn't make sense or you can't get to work properly. There are many resources out there that will attempt to teach you about pretty much every aspect of using Linux most people are not willing to reply specificly to questions with so many good resources out there.

Good Luck!
