How to share an ADSL Internet connection with Windows 2003? [adsl internet connection] [using a router]

Q: I use a PC with Windows 2003 as a domain controller and file server. Now, I want to use the internet. Ive done it before with cable internet without a problem, but this poor DSL (never held), I just can not configure correctly.
I use to connect to Winpoet the net and I can fit in well. I use an ADSL modem (not router), the connection to an Ethernet adapter.

is not an option because I do not use a better control of what people do with my internet on how to do company.

So parts of an ADSL connection? My IP addresses are static.

Any ideas guys? I still have this problem…

I answered your specific question already.

I do agree with these guys though, just get a router.

Re:I don't understand why a router isn't an option? You REALLY don't want to have your DC as the edge router as well. If you let us know a little bit more about what you are trying to do as far as controlling access, we can give you a better idea of what you want to do.

Re:Using Win2k3 on domain controller at my company. We have 2 DSL services running (for load balancing) through the 1 wired router for wired connections and 1 wireless AP for wireless. Why not just go with a router? I am systems admin and can control users just fine through router settings and policies. What exactly are you trying to control?

Re:win2k3 in ICS won't allow better control, it may even be worse.

Unless you are installing some 3rd party software, or ISA server.

I wouldn't setup this machine to route, as it's a big risk. If this box gets owned (and if it's the edge/unh/w firewalled box, it stands a good chance eventually) then you lose your domain controller, and files.
