Q: HI! Everyone, try my CD
I run Oracle, but Im not geting success. The same CD can I run on my neighbors computer, but not in my comuter has comuter.
My Pentium4, 40 GB hard disk and Dell Optiplex GX240-. Windows 2ooo.
I checked CD is for Windows window 2000
What 2000.I have the problem might be? What will the solution be?

Best Answer: *iso file are an image file, to run run this type of file u need a winrar or neroimage converter or demontool.
firstly install this and then u can do that.

Re:The message 2 above you say that is is telling you to use jre 1.1.8. Did you try grabbing that from javasoft.com, installing it, and using the control panel to verify that that is the version you computer is actually using. The java stuff will add a control panel on your start programs list that can be used to control which version runs by default when java is started.

It has been asking me to install " JRE 1.1.7 or Higher from Javasoft.com.I installed that and tried for running but it's giving me same error…
Now what should i do , i have due for Project on Monday in my Database class..

Re:You may have a version of java runtime, but is it the 1.1.8 version that it is complaining about? You will need at least the version it is compaining about. A lower version will not work.
I will check that link out at home, where I have win2k installed. I am limited to NT4.0 here at work.

Click on ok
Select windows 2000 or for NT
Then Download it and then after unziped it .
Start on setup program
Now today i got different kind of error message , telling that instaleed " jre1.1.8 or more then needed menasjava runtime needed for this program.
I donoy know why it's giving such error eventhough i have Java runtime also

Here is Problem ..
I unzipedd CD in on my Hard Disk , i went to the set up and click on set up to install and run but it did not .
This CD is for WIndow -2000.I am sure .Eventhough when i down load it's free version from Oracle ,same problem occured.

Re:Oracle is fully certified on windows OS's from 98 up to win2k. I am sure that in a few days they will be winXP certified as well. Is the problem just that when you put the CD in it doesn't automatically startup the install program? If so then check in the control panel for your cdrom and turn on the autorun feature.
Since your question left out any indication of what you see not happening, it will be hard to trouble shoot the problem.
Give more data about exactly what happens. Does the CDROM drive spin up, but nothing happen. Can you explore the CD and click on the install.exe? Does clicking on install.exe not do anything? Does clicking install.exe give you an error? Come on cough up some data to help trouble shoot the problem.

i think oracle runs on 95 or 98 and not 2000
