Q: Can anyone help? I thought I broke the middle of the socket A stay (CPU socket) on my Abit KT7 Raid A mobo. I can not properly attach my heatsink. Are there any heatsinks that continue to use outside? I really need help with this. Thanks in Advance.
Oh Yes, for those who know, I did it with a FOP38. Who thinks hard about staying . very difficult to install.

Re:Just don't go insane and buy one of those screw on SwiftTech's. With the amount of money those things cost you could just buy a new MB

Re:I don't know what your HSF looks like, but it should be possible to bend a new clip out of piano wire to use the other stays. Beware that piano wire varies greatly in hardness, both for cutting (may ruin pliers & require Dremel cutoff wheel) and bending.
Another solution is to not use any stays at all and just glue the HSF on with silicone rubber sealant (not silicone grease, not super glue). Epoxy isn't needed and is too much trouble if the HSF ever needs to be removed.
Re:the Corefx heatsink or something like also use the 4 holes in the board to be screwed down.. there are tons of reviews bout it.. check out

Re:Also, you will find that the Taisol is a much better HSF unit anyway
Much queiter and great cooling power.
Re:I love you guys
There is always a wealth of information here and people are very willing to help!
Thanks again!
Re:More specifically, the Taisol CGK742 and CGK760 have the three-prong clip. Also, heatsinks with the four mounting pins will have no problem, like the Swiftech MC462.
Re:afaik the taisol hsf use all 3 stays and should work.
Re:I think there are three stays on each side, right? You just have to find a HSF or clamp that uses the one(s) that are still intact. I don't have any links offhand but I'm sure other peiople will
