Q: Firstly, does anyone have any performance tips? The card comes stock overclocked to 114/114mhz and has a fan on already and does not require a basic SVGA card. Ive Powertrip used once and a while, but it just started bugging me, so I slain it.
In case you dont already know, the Monster Fusion is running on a 3Dfx Voodoo Banshee chipset with 16 RAM (I have no idea what the speed and what kind) and AGP.
Also, I think about getting a real 3D card, but I can not seem to find anywhere a standard SVGA card, where can I get a basic card for typical card.
what 3d 3D maps encourages you to an overclocked PII400 (now 448) with 320 MB of mixed (64 MB PC100 256MB PC133 u0026amp;) MEM?
ive have all PCI slots in the world. ![]()
Re:Ok, i've made my decision:
I found a Creative 3D Blaster TNT2 32mb AGP (yes, 128mhz mem) for less than $80, and that's INCLUDING standard ground shipping. I don't want some crappy TNT2 M64 and those LEs sounded like bad news.
hopefully i'll get enough cash in a few months to just buy a new ATX motherboard that has better support and I can decide then what kind of processor I'll get.
Thank you for all your hints and suggestions, they have not been wasted.
Thanks again.

Re:dude… check out the ATI Radeons LE's they are talking about here. They are located here. (http://www.newegg.com/app/viewproduct.asp?description=14-102&homepage=/index.htm) The performance with these beasts would be whole ton greater than that TNT2 M64. And its' only like $92.
Re:yes, i just found that out from a friend of mine….after i got him to stop laughing for an hour.
I have been stuck in the timeperiod when PII-400's were the fastest thing out there. And so, with a crappy system and a tight budget, I have to say I'm gonna get an older video card, as long as it has more than 16 mb ram and is better than voodoo banshee.
i can afford to spend up to $100, so i'm talking blowout sales here. i've already found an nVida TNT2 32mb M64 agp card, but i'm reading up on it to see how it goes. I don't really care if it can out perform a geforce or anything like that.
well on i go to (slowly) upgrade my system.
Next month: a 12gb harddrive! WOW!
PII-400 @ 447
320MB SDRAM PC112 (mixed 100&133) HA!
8gb hdd
8×4x32 CDRW
32x CDROM
16mb MONSTER FUSION AGP (for now)
No case
1 deskfan.
Now that's what I call a space heater. ![]()
Re:FYI, in case there is confusion…
All of the current cards out there are both 2D/3D cards… I say this cause you mention a 1MB SVGA card, you know that you wont need that.
Re:Hello, your best bet would be to go with a Voodoo3 card. You can pick one up for around $40 US. Your CPU is to slow the use current generation cards to their full potential. I've go a Voodoo3 in my second PC and it's got very good image quality in 2D and has half decent 3D. Plays CS fine coupled with my 450a. Peace out.
Re:one more note:
inno3d tornado geforce2 mx 32mb agp oem w/heatsink (no fan)~ $90
1mb svga pci card~ $16
good deal?
Re:here's the deal:
i've found a geforce2 mx card and a 1mb pci card for ~$110 plus shipping, but i don't know if it matters who makes the geforce2 card or not since all geforce2 labeled cards use, well, geforce2 technology. i'm new, but i'm fully aware i'm taking a performance hit with an "all-in-one" card.
Re:with the prices on Radeons and Geforces nowadays, you really need to throw that thing out the window
Re:Here's a link to some nifty tweaking software for your Banshee:
APK Software (http://www.pixelstation.com/APKWeb/software.html)
As for other PCI boards, maybe a V3 2000 or V3 3000 PCI might do.
