Q: I have a search and tried a few things, but not luck.
I m using a Westell 6100 modem and the WRT54G firmware (DD-WRT V23) 0.
I can come online only in connection I once modem.
But the router, I can not online.
I have been to the router page and change the DHCP setting of the PPP setup saved and restarted, even router.
I called Verizon, but that made no difference.
Does anyone have any ideas?

Re:Ok, here's the deal.
When I first got the Verizon DSL kit, I spent about 20 minutes hooking everything up and about 5 hrs trying to get online with my WRT54G.
After talking with 3 different Verizon reps in those 5 hrs, I quickly realized that I was alone in dealing with this.
Anyway, I decided to shutoff power to both the router and the westell 6100 for a few hrs.
I also removed the verizon broadband connection in the network connections section.
I then powered up everything all over again, then manually entered the verizon broadband connection in my network connections.
After that, I went to my routers page, and changed the connection to the PPPOE option.
Note that Verizon DSL in my area runs on PPPOE, based on what the reps said.
Also, I wanted to mention that before I did all of this, I already had the PPPoE configuration.
I have no idea why it didn't work before, but now it works fine.
I'm the type of person that wants to know the cause of something like this so that I could prevent it in the future.
Hopefully, everything will be fine.

On the Westell the login in defaults back to:
Login: Admin
Pwd: password
This is what it will be at if the router / dsl modem was reset
with the little recessed button & also if the user never changed
the admin password

#6. Verizon doesn't always use DHCP. But a sure way to find out is to have the modem detect the WAN configuration (I am positive his particular modem model supports that, I just worked with one last week).
#7. Given the description of his problem where his computer gets on fine, but when it's plugged into the router it is not. The problem is with the DSL modem remembering the MAC address. I've seen this happen on multiple Verizon DSL service I've setup.
I don't have westell 6100 dsl/router and I am using westell 2110 dsl modem.

Sorry, but with a lot of the Verizon DSL service I've worked with not a single one uses PPPoE authenthication anymore.
And if he wants to put a router in the mix, he needs to disable the built-in router on that modem. The Westell 6100 model is a DSL modem and router in one. If he wants to use his own router, he needs to put the DSL modem into Ethernet bridge mode.

after i set up verizon dsl for the first time, they set my westell's user/pass to the same as the one used for my verizon dsl account info.

It would work there either. so i ended up getting a new router. Now it works fine with my comcast cable modem. Im too scared to try it on my verizon dsl.
