Q: (see specs below)
Hello, I try to run PowerMax Low Level Format my hard drive and I am running into a problem that is quite confusing. If PowerMax comes to detecting drives on the IDE channel will not come on all drives. Normally it would let you know what the device on the IDE channel, or would you say that it is free. In this case there is no mention at all, not even the channel itself. I have a bad install of win2k on a 30Gig Maxtor ATA100 drive, and I want to do a Low Level Format. I will also stop error when trying to install Windows from CD. This is a brand new motherboard I bought a NEW one Epox8k5a3 +, which did the same thing to replace, but I thouht it was the mobo, so Im now working with an Asus A7N8X. It is obviously not the motherboard. All components in the system prior to using this install and worked fine.

No overclocking, Volcano 7 + HSF Etc.
Could, Artic Silver 3, it is a power problem is too small?
Could this a problem with the mobo grounding the case?

What brand is the memory? This should not affect the ide ports.

Re:All that stuff except for video card is onboard, and I disabled it and still no cigar. I hooked only the slave up to the primary ide, and powermax still wouldnt recognize it. damn this sux

Re:Hook one hard drive up and just have the basics installed when doing windows. IE: no sound, nic, etc. Not a grounding problem otherwise it wouldn't turn on. Power supply should be more than good enough.

Re:Perhaps the ide controller in your chipset is new and Powermax doesn't recognise it? Not sure though.
