Q: Hi, In IE6 WinXP Pro sp1
the icon of the address bar (where you type the address) is missing. How can I do it again?
what I mean is:
back | Forward | Stop | Refresh | | Search | Bookmark | media | history | mail | print | compositions __________________________________________________ _____________________
address 977 503 |:) http://www.yahoo. com | 977,503 ———————————————– ————————————————– —————–
between the “address” and “http://”, there should be an icon (which is the happy face). but now missing, how can I recover it?
thanks
Re:Try clearing the browser cache (Tools -> Internet Options -> Delete Cookies and Delete Files (check the box for Delete Offline content.). Close down the browser and restart it… it shouldn't be there now.
Re:no yahoo junkies… but i do remember there is an icon there….

guy,
Currently using the same setup and there isn't an icon. Sometimes, a website will have a mini icon associated with it, and it gets cached when you bookmark a site. I always hit Control-O when typing in a new URL. You didn't happen to install Yahoo Messenger or the Yahoo add-on junk for IE, did you? If so, that explains the smiley….
Re:I believe it only shows up only when you are currently on a valid website.. other then that, I don't know why it would be missing.. can't see why you'd care if it was there or not
