Q: For some strange reason IE or Firefox do not work on my sisters computer, I can ping sites and Im sure my connections are good, but IE and Firefox are errors.
I makes me think that maybe the firewall, I am going Check now.

Open the file with Notepad, and post the lines (usually the last ones) that don't have a # before them. There should really be one line there – 127.0.0.1 localhost. Sometimes spyware will add settings there that redirect traffic to adservers.
And do try that LSPfix. Sometimes when spyware installs, it makes changes to files that affect the TCP/IP stack. When the spyware is removed, these files are taken away too, partially disabling TCP/IP. That handy program there fixes that problem.
