you know how when you are running , and loads up the screen where the user login name and enter Your password .

well, I noticed the white bar that sometimes your login password is automatically opened when .

The problem you are having is that some computers have only one other account except Administrator, and some have multiple. If you only had one account other than Administrator (ie yourself) it will automattically put the cursor in the password textbox. When you have multiple account (say after you install the .NET Framework) that auto thingy is disabled. The only way I know of fixing that is to go into user accounts and delete the ASPNET user account, however I do not know what adverse affects may come from that. I personally prefer the 2000 style login, Ctrl+Alt+Del and all.
Gah! That's probably it…I new I forgot something, in this case the asp user.

I think want you want to do is turn off the welcome screen. Go to Control panel>User Accounts>Change the way users log on>Uncheck use welcome screen. Since you only have one user, you might as well switch off fast user switching as well.

yeah, that sorta worked, except it looks more like a win2000 logon now instead of the XP logon.
Oh sorry, now I reread your question and understand what you're talking about. You're right, it is hard to word. hmm…I'm not certain how to do what you're asking.

well, i know how to do that in users and accounts, but i need to log in so that i can access shared resources on the network, i think :o

If you use tweakXP it will automatically log any user you want on. I use this on my Headless XP Pro box so that I can log onto it from a remote location.

If you do it in user/accounts it will only disable the password and log that user on. If you are going to using remote desktop that will not work because they have to have the same user name.
