Q: Ive heard things about Opera Neato 5 recently, so I would like to ask whether its better than IE or Netscape? Is it really faster and uses less system resources than the other two browsers? Thank you.
Re:ie 5.01 sp1 is a better choice for w2k. ie 5.5 isn't offically recommend for w2k yet. Too many security problems or not as secure as 5.01 sp1 or something like that.
Re:What about the Neoplanet browser? Anyone care to rate it in with these? I've been using it since my IE5.5 crashes, sometimes leaving the error window screen locked on my desktop, I can move it but it won't close. The other thing is my IE5.5 won't find addresses, I have to use the search feature on the side. I've tried everything except for the SP1 which I'm downloading as I type.
So, what about this browser, anyone?
Re:on my win2k system, nothing can beat IE 5.5. when i was using win98 opera was awesome and IE sucked a$$ but now, for some reason IE runs faster, smoother, and error less compared to opera or nutscrape! i was actually surprised, but hey thats the way it turned out.
loooo
Re:The version 5 is free. Only catch is that there are ads in the upper-right corner. Personally I dont even notice them anymore. Though I do click on them occasionally just to support Opera.
Will probably purchase the version without ads soon, it's not that expensive considering how much I use Opera.
Re:Opera may be better but you have to pay $$ for it
IE 5.0 or 5.5 is free and really good too
guy
Re:opera is better than explorer/netscape when it comes to size, and quickness. But when it comes to having more features, and being more compatble, explorer wins. Now, netscape still has some bugs that need to be worked out, but when they are, I think that it will be on par with explorer.
Re:I used Opera on Win98 and NT 4.0 and never had any problems with it. I installed it on my Win2k system and it's all funky. Most of the time it refuses to run and when it does it usually errors out or freezes. Could be my setup though, I have some unusual stuff in and loaded on my system.
