Q: I recently reinstalled XP and now the icon is there all the time with my OS disk listed.
It makes me nervous to think I could accidentally disconnect the drive.
Re:It must be the new motherboard since when I was using the NF7-S it never showed.
I read in the links that maybe it is because I installed the nvidia sw drivers.
Re:If the SATA drive is connected as a non-RAID drive, it is hot-pluggable and removable. I wanted my SATA drive to be so listed in an external SATA case – but since it was connected to a port on the mobo and RAIDED, it was no longer considered "removable" by Windows.
