Q: I can not imagine that, but I thought Id ask . where can I buy a game that I was out of the case and put it on a spindle. Most of the time I write the cdkey in the face of the CD – but I forgot to do this with QuakeIII Arena. So now Im playing against bots, which sucks. Is there a way to get my cdkey? Maybe call ID or something? Or I am stuck buying another copy? : D

Re:Activision will send you a new disc and key if you registered the game already. I spilled ice tea on my jewel case two years ago making the cd key sticker unreadable. Called up Activision and they sent me a brand new cd but I had to pay 5$ for the shipping.

Bit of a git that one. You could always chance your hand and call "id" I suppose. They do say though "DON'T LOSE YOUR CDKEY". If I'm honest it looks like another purchase 4 u, unless that is the new Point Release 1.29x stops this requirement being used any longer, which is a long shot I know.

You're gonna have a hard time getting that CD Key. id will be of little help, cause the key isn't associated with you like it is with some other games.

I think this has happened to many'a people and they all ended up either buying a new copy, or just trashing Q3. You must answer the question, is Q3 worth another ~$40 to you? Good luck man
Re:Thanks for the tips, but you don't understand. I was just rummaging through my games and installed Q3. I don't have the CD case, so I don't have the cdkey. So I can't go looking in my q3 folder because I haven't entered a cdkey, because I don't [i]have[i] a cdkey.

OK here is what you do, go to where you have your q3 files on your drive, open up the folder baseq3. open the file q3 config in notepad. search for "key" the thing immediately after it is your key it will be 17 characters long.

Re:I don't know about finding your cd-key, but someone on the forums said that they might have stopped checking the cd keys when you play online, but it was just a rumor. Maybe try a friends cd key and see if you can both play at the same time?
