K8N-E Deluxe No item of installed CPU [asus k8n e deluxe] [amd athlon 64]

Q: I recently Asus K8N-E Deluxe motherboard and an 3200 + After installing everything and trying to boot the computer refused POST purchased. No video, no POST error messages. So I slowly started to parts away. Finally, get all the way down to just a motherboard and processor. Still nothing, I finally took the CPU out and just booted the motherboard and just got a post error Installed.

After call me No CPU Asus tech support told me I probably had a bad processor and to replace it. So I called newegg and got my CPU replaced. Well the replacement arrived yesterday and it still tried googling for work.

I K8N-E no post and I found another person with this problem. It was not resolved and he had actually sent the motherboard back to Asus for a replacement and they told him it was working fine and returned to him.

So Anyone got an idea?

Re:Yeah I double checked both times to make sure I didn't bend the pins and put the cpu in wrong.

I don't currently have another power supply around to test it out on. That's going to be my next purchase for this rig in the next few weeks.

The power supply was my initial assumption until I started doing some googles on the K8n-E and found a lot of people having problems with them for various reasons. Plus one guy with the exact same problem as me (but no solution.

Re:Believe it or not, one issue that crops up every so often is that people manage to put the CPU into the socket the wrong way :o I know this is "well DUH!" but it is in the socket this way (), right?

Also, if you have another name-brand power supply in the 300W+ range, like Fortron, Enermax, or Antec, maybe humor me and try it :)

Re:Yeah my ATX12V cable was plugged in. And I tried this all outside of the PC resting on the box. I tried it with Memory, CPU and Video Card. Got nothing, no post error messages. I then took out the video card and still no error messages. Then out came the memory, still no Post errors. It wasn't until I removed the CPU, that I finally got the Post message of "No CPU Installed"

Re:You'll need the CPU, memory, and video card to post. Try your motherboard outside the case on cardboard like shown here (http://www.omnicast.net/~tmcfadden/guides/build/benchtest.html), and make sure your ATX12V cable (http://www.omnicast.net/~tmcfadden/guides/build/atx12V.jpg) is plugged in, people overlook it a lot for some reason. Don't plug in any drives, or any case wiring except the power button.

It will also help if you give a complete list of all your hardware, as specifically as possible, including the brand and model of the power supply.
