Keyboard no longer works on the Asus A7V? [asus a7v] [keyboard]

Q: I have this problem where my works with the computer most of the time, but then at times, its just entirely cut off the and I have to re-insert plug.

Is there a way to correct? It is not so important, just very annoying.

Re:Alright, I hope it's resolved when I put the motherboard into my new computer case next week. If it still occurs. Time to buy a new , and if that didn't fix it, oh well, I guess i'll have a nice new internet to go with my computer.

Re:i have a cheap . crappy plug is too short
it just comes loose, and you have to fiddle with it to get it back in properly.

Re:Stand off? What's that, scope?

also how do I check eventlog, guy?

Re:Here is a very unlikely answer. Check under the motherboard near the ps/2 and usb ports. If there is an extra motherboard standoff there that is shorting out the ports it could cause this to happen. I had this happen to 2 comps at my buddy's store. People had this exact same thing happen to them and when we took apart the comps they had put an extra motherboard standoff under the ports. Like I said it's unlikely.
guy!

Re:Try to isolate problem. Try another , try a USB , check the PS2 adapter to see if connector is loose, see if event log contains some error messages, see if it happens in some programs and not others, if dual boot see if it happens with other OS, boot with a DOS floppy and see if it happens in DOS … all I can think of at the moment.

Re:Come on… someone!?!?

Re:Help me out and you can get a cookie:)

Re:Well, I have bios 1.007 and I turned off power management. The still just stops working any more suggestions?

Re:I suspect it is a power management issue. Many users were having problems with sleep modes and keyboards not waking up. Disable power management in the bios or try a newer bios version is a good place to start.
