Q: I tried this a few times and it is not work.
I, Linksys Wireless DSL / Cable Router BEFW11S4 Surfboard SB5120 cable modem and motorla. The router was my girlfriend and is about 3 years old. I have the instructions to configure the router to my Linksys and Cox seen it still does not work. I also updated to the latest firmware on the wire router.
When Iplug the modem into the router from the WAN no lights at all (Yes, I am plugging into the WAN port). For laughs I have the modem connected to one of the other ports, and I have all the connection lights. Is it possible to have a fried WAN port or do you think my problem is something else?

If you have reset the router, than it is indeed a bad router

try use a different cable.
I've tried two different cables, both of which work just fine if I connect them from my modem to my computer.
I've also power cycled the modem and router.
