Best Answer: Sooner or later the nvidia 8600GT and GTS will drop just below $100 and according to my friends pc should run FSX on high settings at a smooth 30 frames per second. Also try getting a card that has 512mb of video memory in it as this GREATLY affects autogen of fsx. Otherwise there arent many cards 'currently' that can run fsx on good details above 23 fps under $100.

Re:I was wondering if the English Tornado is in the initial release of the game. The reason I ask is that in a pre-relese video clip of the game it showed the Tornado in all it's glory. I got an original copy of the game from a friend who has just returned from the states and I'm in a panic as it may be that the UK game release version includes this aircfraft by default. If it is in the game I cannot find it for the life of me.
Anyone know the score here?

I don't know what you mean by the attention span remark, but I just never really cared much about Russian planes in WW2, maybe since I'm American. I'd rather fly a P-47 or P-51 than one of 12 different variants of IL2.
I haven't tried the other IL2 game, so I don't know what it's like.

Bah, IL2 doesn't have too many cool flyable planes, and the missions are always the same. It could have been so cool, but it just fell really short of greatness.

Of course, it is advisable to own both because they cover different ground, I'm just more fond of WWII combat than modern stuff.
But flying a big old new jetfighter in which you can stand it on its a$$ and pin the throttle and just climb until the atmosphere disappears . . . . THAT is an experience every prop-jockey should have at least once . . . if only in a simulator.

The demo they came up with was meant to give you some limited idea of what the final game will look like…
Therefore it cam with pre-defined "easy" diffiulty option…
The finall game has al the options you might imagine and some more…
IL-2 is a nice game too…
