Q: Hey I dont play many games with the exception of those few strategy . Anyway, I have a bloody good gaming computer that never reached its full potential . So I was wondering if someone a lot about the various games that a game could suggest to me .
I think I would like a game around the room and maybe something a bit like Descent (but not completely able to play games like it) . something that takes the brains, but much scope scraft fight . I play a lot of Starcraft, so if I find a newer 3D game that captures the overall creative and spacey feeling, thatd be cool.
i dont know . im just looking for a number of game titles and ill just study from there .

Can you give a little explanation as to why you think Space Rangers 2 is a 'steaming pile of crap'?
I'm just curious because I purchased the game and have gotten at least 40+ solid hours of game play from my investment. A dollar an hour ain't bad at all. I love it for what it is, but I knew what it was going into it – not a first person space flight/fighter simulation. It's a hybrid game that is loads of fun, but if you're looking for a descent-like game, this is not it. The only negative about Space Rangers 2 for me was the RTS planetary battle part of the game, which you can avoid completely, not have it negatively impact the game, and still have tons to do.
Just my 2 cents.

Re:man i downloaded the X3 demo and it was 241 bloody megs and its not even a playable game….just a few videos of space crafts flying around… no talking, not even any real shots of game play… just random nothing with crappy techno music playing…
anyone know what the game play is like? etc..

Have you played Rome Total War. Fight a large battle with large units with 8 armies and it will use up quite a bit of a PCs resources.

Warhammer 40k Dawn of War? I'm a Starcraft fan and found this game very enjoyable and the graphics/sound are certainly more modern.A worthy RTS, to be sure. No space combat however, though it is SCI-FI (the 40K stands for the 41st millenium).

Re:You basically just described Homeworld and the sequel. You played them? Graphically dated today, but if you haven't played em you should spend $20 and check em out. You'll certainly be able to run them at the absolute best settings which imo will look fantastic.
