Q: I am looking for a way for applications to think that there is a burner on a computer and when it comes to burning, it creates a disk image. Kind of a reverse Daemon Tools in a sense. Anything out there?

In Nero Express, you choose the device to write to, on my comp the choices are my Pioneer A06 as a CDRW or DVDRW then also "Image Recorder" as CD or DVD. 4 choices, 2 recording images instead of actual CDs.
This was just the Nero Express burning software that came bundled with the Pioneer drive.
Ah but that device isn't accessible by other programs though. At least I don't think.

Nero's virtual recorder, but you might need to carry around a physical CD drive to install it first

So you just want to create a CD image? Most CD burning software will let you do that. It's usually called virtual recorder or image recorder or something like that.
No you're not understanding what I need.
I'm looking for something that'll create a virtual CDRW drive that I can virtually burn to from any application that can burn disks such as iTunes, Soundforge etc.
These applications will be burning to for example a E:\ drive which is actually just a driver much like Daemon Tools.
Right now Daemon Tools only creates virtual read-only drives FROM disk images. That's not what I'm looking for.
