Q: Thank you in advance for anyone who might respond to this . I hope the current owners of Sapphires Radeon 9700 out.
I just might help (perhaps stupid) cap of $ 175 on a Radeon 9700 sapphire restored (non-pro) to newegg. I figure I just return it if it does not work. Unfortunately, I actually know very little about this card, and strangely enough can not seem to find much information about the Web .
Anyway, assuming the thing actually works (Im planning on just running stock speed), what should I collect for using accessories-wise likely to be missing? I know that the card requires power . would not one of the smaller plugs of my PS work for that? (Antec SmartPower 350) 0.
Where can I download the best driver for this card? All other utilities included with new cards that can be downloaded?
Finally, what would be reasonable notice should I expect from this card running at 2400 + / + 8rda / 2 sticks of 256 MB PC2100, everything runs at stock speed?
Thanks again!
Re:I got an ATI R9700pro for $250 (and +$20 for the damn tax) from Newegg last January, it came with practically everything!
Re:Newegg Refurbished Items (http://www.newegg.com/app/catalog.asp?type=Refurbish)
Re:How did you find that card? I want a refurbished one for that price. Can somebody point me to the link on newegg where they list refurbished products?
Re:Thanks for the comments everyone! They've been very helpful!
Re:Quit with they buyers-remorse crap. You made a good purchase
It will come with everything you need except the latest drivers.
That card is almost perfectly suited to your PC as well…Damn fast, but not the painfully bleeding edge. When you get it run things at probably just one notch of resolution LOWER than what you would expect, but crank up AA and AF and it will look beautiful. I've got a 9700 pro – my first non-nVidia card since my Voodoo 2 and it rocks.
Re:Download the new Cat. 3.1 driver and control panel directly from Ati's website. Your 3Dmark2001 score will be somewhere around 13500. I'm using a spare floppy drive cable/connector comming off my PSU, not using the adaptor they may or may not provide you. You actually might receive all the goodies that the OEM package comes with, though Neweggg states otherwise.
Re:Ok, it comes with the connector that you need or it should, if not you can just use one of the 3 pin adapters on your PS.
For drivers head over to Rage3d.com and download the latest drivers.
And you should be able to game with all eye candy turned up with that rig, you'll be very happy with it.
