Q: Hi all,
i have a big problem, I helped my brother to install Google Desktop and my computer shutdown on me. When rebooting, my desktop came back with no taskbar and no desktop icons!
i diagonally right clicking or something, not taxes, can I use the task manager and launch applications to help there.

You could look into getting one of these cables.

It gives you a nice split screen to manage moving files between computers.

Build a Bart PE disk

This will give you an OS off the hard drive. You could search for other "offline" boot disks or offline rescue disks that do the same thing that are linux based

reboot in safe mode log into the adminstrator acount insert the xp cd (if you
using xp) click on run and type sfc /scannow and this should fix the problem
