Q: This is what Ive done so far. I have the boot disk, insert the floppy and CD drives in the . was the first step of the setup, defined by the mouse, language, and chose to make the whole drive for clean install eerase. The next step is to offer the package to arrive . but it never does. What happens is the monitor light is orange (instead of green), so I actually lose video signal, keyboard lights go out, and all I hear is the fan. I can not eject the CD and get no answer at all and I am forced to turn off the machine. Any ideas somebody?

Re:No I haven't.. so maybe I should try the install and only have the CD ROm Drive hooked up to a separate channel, on the mobo by itself and then have the HD on the controller card? Then try both on it? I hope it'll work w/ just the CD Rom Drive on the mobo's ATA/33. I wouldn't want to lose the ata/100 abaility of the HD. What do u think?

Re:Hmm… i think the problem may be the CD-rom drive connected to the controller card OR the controller card itself.
Have you tried your system without the controller card hooked up? I'm not saying this is the only way into Linux but just to troubleshoot.

192 megs of ram
30 GIG ATA/100 7200 RPM Maxtor HD
40x Toshiba CD Rom Drive
Maxtor ATA/100 Controller Card
Matrox G200 Graphics Card
Netgear Network Card 312
3.5 floppy
The HD and Toshiba CD rom are both hooked up to the maxtor controller card.
Any help???
