MCSE: Windows 2000 Core Requirements . Which study guide to get? [virtual lab] [core requirements]

Q: Do not want to “make a mistake in buying bad study books.
From how little I know of WK2 training, study Sybex Guide
MCSE: Windows 2000
2nd 5cd edition, Published July 2001, ISBN 0782129501, the
is one to get. Although Microsoft recently has come up with a new one in March this year.
Has anyone used the Sybex MCSE-Windows 2000 published in December 2001, ISBN 0782150195 -? Geo
Thanks

Re:Id stick with the MS Press books because theyre labs are the most comprehensive. I know from experiance(Have 2K and NT4 MCSE). Check out BookPool.com (http://www.bookpool.com) for great prices.

Re:I have used the Exam Prep and Cram and they are alright. If you are on a budget they might be the way to go because Corolis (the publisher) is going out of business and you should find their books pretty cheap now. The most important thing is not the publisher (while some are better they all have the same basic information) but the experience. Setup a little lab and get lots of hands on experience everything from install to administration of it. Most books have labs in them, these are good to do. Once you have done this and passed the test not only will you have a bunch of book lines memorized but you will have experience using the system.

Brain dumps can be useful to find out exactly what is on the test, but I wouldn't rely on them to provide solid answers. I have heard the Exam Cram's are not very good for the 2K track. Plus, apparently they are going under. Check out this link (http://{$MySite}/messageview.cfm?catid=40&threadid=757058&highlight_key=y). The Transcender's are good. I used them to pass the Windows Accelerated exam (70-240) last year. To compliment the studying, I personally recommend taking some time and playing around on a test network, if you have the opportunity. Good luck!

Re:Whichever you get (I have MS ones) I'd compliment it with Transcender software. They had a deal where you'd get the core modual set of tests for something like $79 which was a great deal. Although I can't seem to find it now (I'm not looking too hard). Feel free to take a look at their site (http://www.transcender.com). I believe there's even some demos of the software so you can try it before you pay for it. I think it's a great set of software, although I wouldn't pay over $200 (I'm poor/cheap though).

Good luck with your studies
