* DVD hardware playback
* decent framerates in (no need is great , but prefer not to do any shutter buggin )

So . has such a card exist? At that price?

Re:70 listed on Pricewatch (http://pcinfinity.net/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=infinity&Produc t_Code=V33500RET&Category_Code=video+cards)

it says its retail look at PW for more info

Re:maybe he can get a V3 3500 for that price thats another option but its not to great for dvd but powerdvd will play on anything

Re:You're putting dirty VHS movies onto VCD aren't you!! LOL :D

Re:Get yourself a an origional Geforce MX (or MX400)for $80 (newegg.com has a MSI one for $75 + $5 shipping) and a $50 ATI TV-Wonder VE.

The MX card will have your DVD hardware & framerates for gaming (at least in 16 bit colour), and the ati Tuner card will have the I/O's & TV Tuner. If you don't have an extra PCI slot for 2 seperate cards, the ATI tuner also come in USB.

Note: the ATI TV Wonder VE is not stero (mono only).

Re:Ya get a radeon le or a kyro2(or a gf2mx if you realy want it) and im sure you can find a tuner card with tv out for like 70 bucks.

Re:Or you could wait a couple of weeks for the Suma Kyro II 64mb TV-Output/TV-Input, they announce this at Computex a few weeks ago:

"SUMA (Hall C, booth 1257) announces its SUMA KYRO and SUMA KYRO II featuring ST's KYRO and KYRO II. The SUMA KYRO will be available with 32 Mbytes and TV Output and the SUMA KYRO II will be available with 64 Mbytes and TV Output and "

That card would be perfect for you and AFAIK will be available in the U.S for around $150 (it'll probably have a higher reccomened price but considering the Kyro II Herc 4500 is recomended at $150 and sells for $110 I'd say this Suma card will be available for $150 or under once released).

Re:Not too sure abotu the price, but check out an Asus V7100/Deluxe

Re:Why not buy a good AGP 3d card like Kyro II, Geforce 2, Radeon to handle the 3d side of things (they'll all be more then 3-4 times faster then the AIW Pro), and then spend the change on an ATI TV Wonder PCI type card which will handle the TV in and out side of things and probably has good DVD assist to?, you could do that for $150 or under especially if you go for the Kyro II ($110) or Radeon LE (£80) as your AGP 3d card. The TV Wonders are very cheap after all.

Re:I haven't looked at prices lately, but I thought I'd throw this suggestions out…

What about a Radeon LE and then a separate TV Tuner/Capture card?

Re:AIW is your best choice

Re:I've looked around a bit… is ATI the only company that offers video and tv on their cards?

I don't see that feature combo offered on other cards.

I'll take a look at the specs for the ATI card.

Thanks for the tips!

Re:ATI All In Wonder Pro 32mb card for $151.99 (http://www.computers4sure.com/product.asp?productid=100063&affid=874&adid=874) They also have a 16mb OEM version for $125. That's about your best choice considering your price point. The chipset is kinda old, but it performs on par to a TNT2.

Re:closest thing other than 3d is the ATI all in wonder pro with 8MB memory
