Q: When I open the Computer folder, it takes ridiculously long to load. It performs this way no matter what. I have removed launch programs from msconfig and still does. Anyone have any idea why this would happen? Me using WinXP Pro SP1 and the system is a P4 2.53 GHz 533MHz FSB with DDR 1 Gig.

Re:It ahs probably been 6 months since the last format, and I run adware once every week and update it everytime I run it. I also frequently run chkdsk and defrag.

Re:How long has it been since you reformatted, and do you think that maybe there could be a heat problem? Also check device manager, and insure that there are no problematic devices.
