Q: Hi
I just moved to a new house and my old wired network is not going to cut. I need to set up a wireless network for three computers in three different rooms, one of these rooms will be a different story of the house. What would be the best router and adapters for my situation?

Re:After reading this thread and the ezlan links provided (thanks much!) I went with the Buffalo router and matching usb adapter. Everything is working fine after only a few restarts, hiccups etc… Also have the encryption AOSS option in use. Any hints on setting up the encryption for my old Toshiba laptop w/D-Link pcmcia card so it will work with the Buffalo network?

Re:VPN End=Point is for over the Internet transfer it has nothing to do with LAN security.
As far as you Network goes the Buffalo does WPA-AES, which is currently the highest security available for consumers Wireless.

Re:So basicly the netgear adds encryption to it? Or am I not understanding it right? I would like some type of security on my network as the houses I live by are kind of close together. However I would like the connection strength to be strong. If there is a way that the buffalo can provide security I would go with that one.

As is it is a VPN End-Point (Do not know what End-Point means, look here, http://www.ezlan.net/vpn.html).
Otherwise the Buffalo beats it across the board, and cost half of the price.

But if it is going to not provide a good stable connection then I would rather go for the buffalo one.

Since the Router has a 125Mb/sec. ectra Speed mode, you should by matching Buffalo cards.

What web base application are you running on the PCs?
Requires heavy traffics? than you should spend little over your budget.
