Need NF2 board recommendation for the non-gamer, non-overclockers [board recommendation] [videocard]

Q: Hey everybody,

8RDA + in rig I built for a friend is deceased. (Board of Directors is approximately 2 years old) Need new mobo. No overclocking at all.

Specs:
XP1800 CPU
Single 512MB Crucial stick PC2700
9600XT
120GB WD disk

I NF2 a platform for obvious reasons, great onboard sound is one of them.

The Nf7-S $ 95 . would like a similar council for possible.

Recommendations cheaper?

Shuttle (http://AN35N-Ultra) makes a good ~$55 board. For slightly more bucks there is the DFI NFII Ultra-AL (http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=13-136-124&depa=0) and the non-S version of the NF7 (http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=13-127-144&depa=0).

Hmm.. I also just noticed (setting up the links above) that the NF7-S (http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=13-127-166&depa=0) is now reg priced at $85. Really, that is quite a deal. About a 20% price drop in the last month. Go for it, you can't go wrong.

both are good choices

Re:Yep, I did. I got the NF7-S. It's way more than she needs, but I know it is the best NF2 mobo out there.

Somebody can`t count,it`s the 2nd best,DFI NF2 Infinity Ultra is the best NF2 board ;) .

Re:I would get a cheaper mobo than a NF-7…it is awsome don't get me wrong but overkill for a nongamer/OC'er

Shoot you could get by with a cheap DFI board or really anything…as long as it is quality.

Re:Yea if you want soundstorm then the NF7-S is a great board.

It also will overclock and be good for gaming even though you don't need that. But if the person ever wants to upgrade then can pop a Athlon XP-M in there and go.

So if not gaming ro overclocking per say then you could always get a KT600 board (Chaintech SKT600) $53 and add a Via Envy sound card (Chaintech AV-710) $23 and save some money and do what you need and some.
