Q: Heres the deal . I just got a satellite Internet service a few days ago, and my son is downloading MP3s galore, which is expected:) Only problem is that the satellite service will connect lower speed all the way to 56k speed if you Download over 200 megabytes per hour. I have satellite service to get out of 56k, and my son does too much to download one hour, so when Im on the computer after he finished, I have 56k speed, lol. Ive been thinking of creating a program to all attempts to access Napster type sites to block, because I know exactly which sites he wants to visit. I do not want to do it, just because limits of the connection, Im pretty annoyed with all the useless CDs to the house: P Everytime I tell him to stop downloading so much junk, he is still some thus ignores how he downloaded (
Which programming would be best suited to the task of blocking access to certain websites treated? Would Java the best language for this job, and it is possible to sufficiently to learn Java in a day writing this little program of mine? I do not think this is really a hassle, it gives me an excuse to sit back and relax on the computer all day:)

I already did that, but he quite regularly seems to "forget" how much he has downloaded;) Like I said, that's not the only reason I want to do this. The amount of CDs lying all over the house is absurd, lol. Also, I want it to be a form of punishment too. I caught him selling game copies to his friends already:Q That got me quite upset, I definitely don't want him to continue doing that. I'm a softy when it comes to punishment, so I thought I'd just restrict his access to these types of sites to definitely get the point across. I don't want to restrict his access to the computer, because their is a wealth of information to be learned on the web, but I want to block some sites so he doesn't get any bad habits, especially illegal ones such as pirating software:(

I know I could buy one of those Cyber Nanny type programs but I don't feel like shelling out the money for that type of program when all I want to do is block a few sites. Also, I don't want to limit the amount of time he can be on the computer, I'm not that much of a grump yet, lol.
I just got done reading a thick book on the basics of programming, so I was hoping to use this little problem as an excuse to learn an exact programming language and get started making my own programs, hehe:)
