Q: two computers connected via router. Win2k on a PC and was able to connect before I formatted the hard drive on the WinXP Pro WinXP pc.
Formatted pc
reinstalled fine (which I use the computer name and workgroup name Boba FETT set)
setup Windows Networking Wizard (Windows told they connect to a router where other PCs as well)
disabled WinXP firewall
checked win2k settings (PC name and workgroup name JENGO FETT)
I can not connect the computer to choose either computer.
Sometimes I get “workgroup unavailable” I can
Sometimes get into the group, but there is only one computer (which Im currently on)
Ideas?

Update.
When I'm on the Win2k machine, I see "workgroup" and "fett" when I click "entire network" then "Microsoft Windows Network"
When I double click the "workgroup", I see JENGO, which is the computer that I'm on –but the workgroup name is not "workgroup" it's "fett".
Change your workgroup name back and reboot.
If I look up the workgroup name, it shows fett. Do you mean set the workgroup name to be workgroup, reboot, then set workgroup name to be fett and reboot again?
Try it. Also, do Ipconfig /all on both computers and paste results.
Re:Two PCs can have IPs that are in the same subnet and still not see eachother. That has nothing to do with it.
Re:Did you maybe give them ip addresses, it might make things easier…
