New computer: heatsink / fan will not spin up? [3dfx voodoo3 3000 agp] [3dfx voodoo3 3000]

Q: Just a simple computer assembly that will act as a server. Specs are:

Midtower – 300Watt powersupply
Abit KT7e
AMD Duron 256 900MHz
2x Crucial PC133 2-2-2 SDRAM
IBM 20GB, ATA/100, 7200 rpm (60GXP)
Sony 52x cdrom

3Com NIC / w wake LAN
Teac 1.5 “Silver floppy
Arctic II
The heatsink / fan Cooler Master DP5-a 6H51

Ive tried plugging in Fan1, and FAN2 Fan3. It gives a quick turn, then stops . I had the cover on the side so I could not see the fan in the first . . but then I smartnd a bit and decided to take a look and see if everything worked. I checked the temp monitor and said that the chip is around 44C. I thought a bit hot for a Duron 850 . .

Does someone throw some advice on my situation would be much appreciated . I really hope that a kind of mistake I do not feel like driving and replace the fan . or at worst – the motherboard?

** Oh, and the first post was a success . read the HD and CD-ROM . I went to the cinema and put a few things . like Cas latency to RAM and boot sequence CD-ROM, so I can install an OS.

Re:The KT7e has a low RPM and high cpu tem protection built in the bios. The CPU fan has to be plugged to the Fan1 or Fan 2 header. Check the settings in the bios to make sure they are not set too low which keeps on shutting down the system. You can try disabling the low RPM shutdown but not the high cpu temp to find out if the fan is prolly or not. On the HSF make sure you replace the TIM pad with thermal paste like AS or even regular silicone one.

Re:Try pluggin the fan using the PSU 4-pin plug. If it still not moving…it won't move anymore.

Re:The fan may not be getting enough current to start itself. Try giving it a push, but in the end, get a new fan.

Re:Sorry, that's a Duron 850…not a 900MHz. Thinking of the other Pentium III in the other room.
