- New dual-core Opteron 165 W / SLI Not Booting – [vertical lines] [new case]

Q: Recently installed all my components into a new housing and the machine just past the post ASUS Graphic POST screen. Says Del hit for installation, but it will not enter. After about 3-5 minutes, the graphical display afterwards into gray and black . I tested known good video cards, so its either my CPU or motherboard. Have also tried to make things on a piece of cardboard to prevent short outs.

Help!

PS: Ive never slain a CPU before, but logically, the CPU wouldnt be the next step after the motherboard has posted?

Best Answer: No it does not support the AMD Opteron 180(Dual,2.4GHz,2MB) N/A = not supported …is at the end of the Operton 180 line

The Opteron 185(Dual,2.6GHz,2MB) 2000 F9C is supported since bios version F9C…

Heres your mobo's list of supported CPU's – http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Support/Mothe…
