Q: The next page lists the updated aspects of the network in Windows XP SP2.

I would recommend to read before you start treatment with Package.

Re:Thanks for the heads up. The ICF being enabled by default will be a hurdle for me.

Re:If you upgrade to SP2, IE has a serious problem when browsing php pages. If you click the back button, the html source code comes up. Hitting F5 gives the page though.

Re:I think it is a Solid SP.

However, No matter what there will be certain percentage of people that will experience troubles.

In addition, Not dealing with the issue is a form of ?Reality Denial?, sooner or later we would have to deal with it, otherwise we would be still using DOS 3.3. ;)

Re:I've been running the beta for a little while now and everything has worked great.

Ditto! A solid service pack, the best yet!

ouch yes when I worked at a place where we moved several hundred machines to XP Pro we installed new Windows 2003 servers and migrated everything to active directory. really nice stuff in my opinion…

Yep, can't wait to do it myself (actually will be myself as I am the ONLY IT person period). Unfoprtunately, they won't give me the budget to migrate to 2003.

When is the official service pack coming out? I know some people trying the beta and it really messed their computers up to the point where they would not boot and all sorts of fun stuff.

Are they going to add support for having someone logged in via Remote Desktop and not kicking the local user offline like it does now. I read a while ago that this would be added to SP2, but then Blaster hit and everything is about security now. Any ideas?

Is was initially planned to help out Smart Display users the most. But now as that product line has been eliminated so has concurrent users logins with RDP.

Re:Good info; thanks. One of these years I've got to migrate my last few machines from 2k to XP. I think I may want to take a few days off to do that….

Re:The windows firewall is going to be enabled by default for all connections? I'm not sure that's such a good idea…guess you'd really need to have your default firewall configurations well defined before you start deploying SP2.
