New system will not start! (CPU probable) (Core 2 Quad) Socket Pin Bent FIXED! [dell xps] [cpu core]

Q: My new system will not boot. It runs for one second or so, then closed. I tried different configurations of hardware start, eventually the system on and continued after I removed the CPU (Core 2 Quad). Everything else seems to work. 977 503
My motherboard Asus P5K Deluxe. Someone told me that it still could MoBo. I have the CPU in systems, but did not work. I also have Pentium D expands in the new XPS system, the system switched to half, then stopped, then again turn on itself and stayed with all the fans and leds work. But no display. 977,503
Power Supply seems good shape, with all the fans coming on. GPU fan comes on, optical drives work. Do not know anything about disk as plugs or plug did not matter. 977 503
My conclusion is that the CPU, but motherboard is suspected. Please help me figure out this problem. I get a Socket 775 motherboard cheap from the local shop to test the CPU. If the CPU works then I think I RMA MoBo.

Re:Also you need a magnifying glass when you work in that "nano scale" !!! :-)

Re:I finally figured out the problem, it was a freakin bend pin in the 775 socket…
I played around with it and finally the system booted.

what tool did you use to fix the bent socket pin ?

Thanks a lot guys…

I finally figured out the problem, it was a freakin bend pin in the 775 socket…
I played around with it and finally the system booted..

Bios detected all componets, and showed right values for CPU.. However I do get CPU u code error on start up check (no OS installed)..
I this error just a bios problem ?

A CPU u code error….. hmm

I think your CPU is defective, maybe an RMA will do no? But before you do that try another Power supply.

My motherboard is Asus P5K Deluxe. Someone told me that it could still be the MoBo. I put the CPU in system, but didn't work. I also put the pentium D from XPS in the new system, the system turned on for a second, then shut down, then turn on itself again and stayed on with all the fans, and leds working. But no display.

That lets you know that it's either the motherboard or the power supply. Well, assuming you haven't made a mistake building the system, like forgetting to plug all power plugs into the motherboard, in the proper place, etc.

Re:Thanks guys. I just tested the CPU (Core 2 Quad) on a different (ECS 775 Socket) Motherboard. Computer starts up, but no display. Power stays on with this motherboard, so i guess different motherboards react differently to CPU problem. I'm almost sure now that this is a CPU problem, however I will check what "guy" mentioned. Thanks "guy1", I tried clearing cmos, but no success.

Re:Good idea to get the extra Mobo to test the CPU. I would also get a different PSU to make sure yours isn't faulty.

I have not used the P5K, but make sure you have the CPU power cable connected near the CPU socket and also (if applicable) the additional molex power cable connected to the mainboard.

Re:Did you clear the motherboard cmos?
