no connection to the ftp server from behind ICS [dsl connection] [ftp server]

Q: [Office]: Win2k IIS , directly connected to the Internet via DSL . This machine is equipped ICSs direct with other machines on the office network

[home]: Win2k, she has her Internet connection from another machine on the home network running XP (ICS) will

I needed to be FTP in [office] of [home] . but I am not able to . I can connect to office] [the machines directly connected to the Internet, but not from [home], behind an ICS box (trying to passive mode, then a timeout to try to get a list of files)

how I can do this

Re:u shouldnt have problems accessing internet sites from behind ICS, unless maybe they are running on some port other than 80

Re:I have the same problem… I am running ICS and the clients machines are not able to access some sites (yahoo email account, bankone.com, weather.com), can't send attachments and FTP ofcourse… I tried seeting port 21 but didn't work… The problem with FTP port– justified that port is incorrect…. BUT WHY AM I NOT ABLE TO OPEN SOME SITES?? And everything works on the machine directly connected to the internet.

Re:<< I tried using windows commnand line FTP, FlashFXP, and internet explorer.. I also tried setting flashfxp into passive mode (i think it detects automatically anyway though) and none worked.

if i forwarded port 21 to the [home] then would other computers on the lan not be able to use ftp on port 21? if so I'll have to change the ftp office server to another port and forward that >>

yeah, just change from port 21 to port 2121 or something like that (tha'ts what i do)..therefore, no problems

Re:<< (tries to go to passive mode, then times out trying to get a file list) >>

Did you set your FTP software to use passive mode, or are you saying the software is trying to go into passive mode itself?

I would've suggested to change your FTP client settings to use passive mode transfers (I do this in WS_FTP), but I'm not sure what you meant in the parentheses.

Re:you need to forward port 21 on the routing (aka ICS) box

you can do that in IIS
