Re:Which part of the PCB :)

I was doing some work on a slot 1 CPU a while back, i had to mount a fan on top of the heatsink as it was previously mouted on the side (which there wasnt enough room for in my new case).

I used some Arctic Silver thermal epoxy to stick the fan to the heatsink. Its very strong stuff and probably better to use than super glue! Once its stuck it wont come back off though, so keep that in mind ;)

Re:well I found out what it was…the CPU…slot 1 celeron was not seated properly. Can I use super glue to glue the plastick cpu holder to the pcb?

To bad you don't have an old pci video card laying around. I had a system which defaulted to pci for the video instead of agp. Had to put the pci video card in to get to BIOS to change the settings. Not sure if this is your problem, though.

I just tried this…I put in an old pci video card…took out the agp…nothing…

I also swaped out ram…well actually there were 2 sticks in there and I tried using one at a time…and still nothing…

Re:but if the ram was dead I'd get some kind of beeps right?

Try reseating the RAM in it's mobo slots.

or the RAM might be bad; if possible, get a stick of compatible RAM and use it in the system inplace of it's current RAM.

Re:maybe a connector broke?

Re:Very old…its not mine…

Anyhow the CPU fan works…the power supply seemes to be working…I used a multimeeter to check…

I cleared the CMOS…I dunno…I just turn it on…the HD turns on..I can hear it. But there is no video going from the video card to the LCD screen…its wierd?

The motherboard has no beeps…no lights to determine if something is broken…so I'm lost.

I just found a manual for the motherboard…its a Excelent 1 by Legend QDI….
