Non-ultra FX5600 substitute for an honest GF4 Ti4200 AGP 8x? [gf4 ti4200] [agp]

Q: I recently RMAd my 8x, and will probably get a FX5600 (non-ultra) as a replacement because it seems that the supplier has exhausted GF4 Ti4200s . Is this a fair replacement?

Thanks!

Re:No it's not a fair replacement…Hmm I had to rma my ti4200 also..I hope they don't sent me back some pos fx5600.

Re:Having owned both a fx5600 and a Ti4200 which do you think I kept? The Ti4200 ofcourse because in almost every benchmark I ran it outperformed the fx5600 so unless you love 3dmark03 give the fx5600 a miss. :)

no

Re:Arghhh..the usually base replacement on a price basis, and here the Ti4200 costs the same as an FX5600 now…

No, it's definately not fair. Especially a 5600 non-ultra. Check here (http://www.{$MySite}/video/showdoc.html?i=1797&p=6) for the Ti4200 and the 5600 ULTRA running neck-and-neck (it's all throughout the review). And the Ti4200 is the better overclocker of the two, by a long shot.

So, no a FX5600 isn't a fair deal. A FX5600 Ultra might be considering it is better with AA/AF on, but it's close.
