Q: I have this thing runs fine in the past and has now stopped working. The other USB devices I have work fine. Under the unit mangager It shows the correct way to work with drivers insalled. But when I try and access the card reader I get a message saying the drive is “not accessible incorrect function”
Any suggestions?
Thanks!
Re:Ok this is making me crazy! I boot up the computer this AM and the thing is working. Moments later it just closes the card viewer application and doesn't work!
What it the world is going on???
Re:Thanks, I did downoad the latest drivers but that still didn't "fix it".
I also now notice that when I try to access the DVD ROM drive as well as the floppy drive I get the same error message that they are "not accessable".
I assume this is not a driver issue since that has been updated?

Re:Thanks for the reply,
Yes I have tried installing and uninstalling the card reader as well as updating the drivers. I also just tried using the Olympus D-380 camera since it is USB compatible as well. It gives me the same error message as the card reader.
Also tried several other USB devices and they all work fine.
As far as doing the roll back I have done that in the past and it does work well. It has however been a while since I last used this reader and am not sure how far back I would need to go. I would hate to wipe out some stuff I have loaded over the past couple of months.
Re:Have u uninstalled and reinstalled the USB Smart Media driver? Try that and see what happens. You can also try doing a system restore to a date when you knew the device to be working fine (Start=>Programs=>Accessories=>System Tools=>System Restore)
