Overclocking Guru `s you opinion? celey 400 @ 600? [abit bx] [celeron 400]

Q: I am trying this time to my running at 600 to get it running fine at 2.3 volts buts I booted back into Windows after a minute or two (sometimes freezing) after running 3DMark 2000.

I haxe an R2 FDP a heatsink and a low reflection Artic Silver . The idle temp 38C never get past, even while surfing the web.

So I think you might increase the voltage to 2.4 would be prudent?
If can someone explain how to do it?
Thanks.

Re:Well, I know that 566@850 is a much safer bet, plus any bus speeds past 100 I might be able to get would be considered a bonus for me.

Re:guy–you may also want to look at a 633, not much difference in price, 950 looks like a pretty good bet.

Re:Oops, I meant it was a thin layer of (large contact area) Artic, I have tested the stuff many different ways and thinner was definatly better.

I am probably just going to get a retail C566 and overclock that anyways.

Re:The 400 to 600 was pretty rare to begin with, one question, you misspelled something in the post, was it supposed to be a thin layer of grease, or a thick layer?

Re:Well you are one of the lucky ones to hit 600 Mhz. That is about the top for that core. You might try a larger fan or watercooling. I built a duct from the top of my Alpha and put an 80mm 40cfm Sunon fan on it. It bought me 5c lower in temp.

Re:heat is not the problem the mendocino core tends to have trouble hitting 600
