Overclocking shortens the life of the cards? [bba] [cards]

Q: I have a 9800 non pro that I had flashed to Pro for about a year and is now running great. I have recently overclocked even further to XT speeds. Consider them at overclocked speeds as this will shorten the lifespan of the card?

Best Answer: The only way you can really damage your CPU is if it gets too hot.

Adequate cooling is one of the keys to successful overclocking.

Re:by the time you kill the card man it will be like a fx5200 now

Re:it all depends on the card and about 1,000,000 other variables.

Re:I put a vga silencer on it. How long do you think the card will last at XT speeds? pro speeds?

Re:Yes. So a better cooling system will help it a bit.
