Q: Instock, Pentium? IV 1.5 GHz 400MHz Bus 256K cache – FCPGA .18 Micron OEM
I to Price Watch this .
has anyone tried this new CPU and Motherboard What do you use them?
Best Answer: I would warn though that even though they have the exact same socket you can't upgrade to a Core 2 because Core 2 requires a different motherboard chipset, so you need a new mobo. A motherboard originally made for P4 can't support a C2D. Still a Core 2 is better for these reasons.
1.It's a dual core
2. Core 2 architecture beats the P4's Netburst design by a long shot
3. Core 2s usually have more cache
A decent Core 2(more or less) for less than $100 is the Pentium dual-core E5200(not to be confused with the Pentium D). It has the same core as a Core 2 but it simply has less cache, so it's basically a renamed Core 2.

Um, yeah, sure. Whatever you say.
Re:Uh, that little piece of crappy silicon costs more than all my computer with monitor ! If I should buy a processor for that price, I'd rather go with SUN
Re:not that pentium 3's can clock at 1.5ghz though.
Re:from what I understand, the PIV is not all that impressive, not only does it get beat by slower TBirds, but it would actually be slower than a PIII clocked at the same speed. Go figure…
Re:i posted this in hot deals forum a while back…..not a lot of responses…..figures..
btw, cant get a mobo for p4 yet so why would anyone get the chip? especially since its dropping in price……..lol
Re:hey vvvvvv what heppened to your geforce2 ultra??
Re:$1128? I can buy over 13 600MHz Durons for that price.
